On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, millions of trees are planted throughout Russia in memory of the fallen. During the campaign “Garden of Remembrance”, which is carried out as part of a forest restoration program in accordance with the objectives of the national project “Ecology”, more than 20 out of 27 million trees were planted this spring.
Spring tree planting for the “Garden of Remembrance” is not over yet. As specified in the Federal Forestry Agency, until June 22, it is planned to carry out commemorative planting of trees in Yakutia, the Magadan Region, the Yamalo-Nenets and Nenets Autonomous Districts. Due to its natural features, the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug will only plant trees in September.
Planting trees began on March 18 in the southern regions of Russia: the hero cities of Sevastopol, Kerch and Novorossiysk, cities of military glory – Feodosia, Grozny, Tuapse, Vladikavkaz. Despite the introduction of a self-isolation regime, tens of thousands of people took part in the action. Those who live in a private house or are in a country house are invited to plant a tree in their own area, supporting the action on social networks with the hashtag # SadPamyatiDoma and putting the tree on a 2020.rf sadpamyat map , with photos and stories of participants in the war.
“In these difficult times, many of us remain in apartments surrounded by relatives and friends. Therefore, parents have more time to share stories of their heroes with their children. You can do this in a common activity. Draw together a tree that you will plant later, make a craft, applique, tell who you will devote a “living tree” to stocks in the future, and again do not forget to share photos with the hashtag #SadPamyatiDoma “, the organizers call.
For those who are ready to join the action in person, the portal “The Future of Russia. National Projects”, operated by TASS, has prepared an infographic on how to plant trees correctly.
